A global manufacturer of specialty chemicals providing high value products for wide range of customers worldwide which operates 35 manufacturing facilities in 17 countries and have sales offices that span the globe.

Training Situation
 

Our client decided to implement SAP to all global business units and plant facilities utilizing in-house employees to serve as SAP end-user trainers within their assigned business unit. The in-house employees selected were key business process specialists but did not have the skill set or experience of a classroom or on-the-job trainer.

Training Solution
 

Realizing the need for help in providing their prospective in-house trainers with skills to effectively train their employees, our client searched for a training firm to provide a customized train the trainer program which focused on the soft skill aspect of being a trainer along with the technical skill set required to prepare and deliver SAP training. After consulting with a number of training suppliers, our client selected Total Training Solutions to design and implement their customized Train the Trainer program. The program was implemented to future SAP trainers in the United States and Europe. To date over 400 employees have been certified as SAP End-User Trainers.

The SAP Train the Trainer course, developed and delivered by Total Training Solutions, enabled our client to establish a training support team strategically located throughout their global facilities to support the end-user SAP training. Over 4,000 end-users have been successfully trained by this core group of certified SAP Trainers. This team of trainers is easily accessible within their global locations to provide on-going training support to their functional area of expertise. They not only succeeded as classroom instructors but also as on-the-job trainers as a result of the training received in the customized Train the Trainer course.
